Room decoration is not just about making a room look pretty. Decorating a room is a personal expression one’s tastes and attitudes, in fact, an extension of oneself. The room’s décor can make it functional, pleasing to the eye and an enjoyable place to be in. The most overwhelming aspect of room decoration is deciding where to begin. Not everyone has a clear picture in mind of how a room should look like, but they do have a few vague ideas. A little research and following some basic rules of thumb will enable even the decorating-challenged to spruce up a drab room. Some decorators focus on a key item and build the room around that item, choosing colors, fabrics, furniture and accessories that would accentuate that piece. This could be a print fabric, an artwork, a colorful rug, or any other piece.
